The film night will occur on the second tuesday of every month, though it may move to a different time slot as schedules adjust. Our Chief Film Guru (CFG?) is still in the midst of organizing a carefully selected list of queer titles for all, but our first selection will be the Julian Schnabel directed Before Night Falls. The film is based on the life of Cuban writer and poet Reinaldo Arenas staring Javier Bardem. This film is meant to bookend the pride and independence day festivities by celebrating the history of queer people and to focus on a population of our community that is often unheard or forgotten by the middle-class white majority.

As always, QB sponsored events strive to be Safe(r) Spaces, and any intolerance will not be tolerated. The goal of Queer Behavior, and the reason why these events are created, is to foster communication and growth within our queer community, so as usual, hanging out and talking after is encouraged, though not required.

…and the twenty minute intermission should leave ya’ll plenty of time to get nice and toasty at kerouac’s bar or to mingle with your fellow cinema-loving queers!
